For flag and Mammon

Um okay, this revisits the Indian coach issue -- but couldn't resist: neat piece by Anand Vasu, on the nationalist clamor surrounding the selection process.

Vasu has a point. If Amarnath wants to be considered seriously, he should base his claim on his coaching credentials, not the national flag he brought with him to the selection interview.

But then, he doesn't have any credible credentials to put on the table, does he? It's like the advice the ageing lawyer gave the novice: 'If you have facts, pound the facts. If you don't have any, then pound the table'.

Or, in Jimmy's case, beat the jingoistic drum
