Knives out...

...in Pakistan, with the focus of criticism -- spearheaded by Wasim Akram and Imran Khan -- relating to the dropping of Shoaib Akthar.
Similar noises were made during the India tour as well, especially after the defeat at the Gardens, but Pak had an opportunity to pull back, and came through strongly to level the series. Trouble here is, Pak has just one Test left to pull it off; and in any case, it is good bye to its ambition of winning a series in the Caribbean, something no Pak side has ever managed in the past.
Both past greats have argued that Mohammed Sami missing out through injury made it imperative that Akthar be picked. Unintended irony here -- ahead of the India tour, these same greats, and others, had argued that a Sami-Rana Naved-Danish Kaneria led attack was easily the weakest Pakistan had ever fielded.
