Young and hungry

Was having a chat, late last evening, with Harish Kotian of Rediff, who has just come back from the Bangalore camp. And he was telling me the most noticeable aspect of the camp was the palpable hunger the three youngsters -- Raina, Yadav and Rao -- showed, in their drills and practise matches.
In fact, he reckons it was their enthusiasm, hard work and performance that pushed them into the side ahead of perennial hopefuls like Hemang Badani, Sreedharan Sriram and Dinesh Mongia; that the young lads were so exuberant in their performance, it would have been very hard to deny them.
Nice sign, 18-year-olds and such coming through the ranks and making the team; Team India could do with a bit of their hunger and zest.
Links, here, to two Harish pieces in case you missed them: On Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan.
