Nehra's figures

Is funny how Zaheer is always looked on as the star, and Nehra equally as the spare wheel. Nehra's figures this series thus far: 10 wickets in five games, 18.5 average, 3.95 rpo, and a strike rate of a wicket every 28.1 balls
Here is the live series stats for Nehra, and the others...

  • Not really...atleast the team management knows nehra has more value in ODIs. Notice he is trusted more at crucial times (like that last over in Pak tour etc). There 'was' a time when Khan was bigger, then he just stopped dead in his development track. Now crawling backwards :-)

  • I think Nehra gets injured more often, and that's why he isn't as prominent as some of the others. By and large though, he has done as well as, if not better than, any of the other quicks we have had since Srinath.
Ironically enough, Cricinfo did two i/vws with Zaheer - before Pak's tour of India and before this season began, and both times, the message from him was the same: "I am back, I am fully fit, I am feeling good"

  • If i remember right Zaheer even claimed that the pakistan series would be his. How many times we have seen bowlers getting humbled after making such self proclaimed predictions? Now I am not talking about Glen McGarth here so please dont quote him as an example to counter my point.

  • I think that Nehra is a lazy quality bowler... the laziness accounting for him not being lethal that often

  • True Sriram. the problem is that he actually has looked pretty good in patches, with patches being the operative word. The rest of the time he seems to be struggling on the field, so not sure what's going on. That and his tendency to start off slow/poorly, like today.

  • wow, nehra picked up 6 wkts !!!
India still sliding towards defeat :-(
Our boys just can't win in SL

  • except for last over nehra bowled really well a captain would take 6 for 59 any day , the others just didnt support him cud have at least bowled economically even if cudnt take wickets. Healy had a good point on TV when he said thru this tour only one bowler clicks in each match so really doesnt matter if u have 4 or 5 bowlers
