Same old....

Of all the possible shots you can play to a straight ball on middle... let's see, shut the bat face and work on the on... stroke out onto the off... chip/lift over the bowler's head, straight as a string, the most natural of shots... why, unless you had temporarily misplaced all six of de bono's caps, would you try to step away and chop at something that was fullish on middle? It's almost as if Dhoni picked the one shot calculated to get you out in any of three ways -- bowled missing the shot, LBW not getting the bat down in time, caught behind off the edge...
Shutting out games... with bat, or ball... continues to be a weakness for this side, which is a pity

Exactly the reason why you may end up owing me a drink and dinner end of the year..if you remember the pact we made.

  • Prem...as I commented on the other post....RD/management missed a trick..dhoni sent with a mission he was bound to fail in.....dont ever ask this guy to be cautious.....he could have survived 10 overs tonking...

  • shame on team india..continues to make the same mistakes.

  • i agree with worma, if dhoni came in at the fall of Yuvi he had the assurance that even if he fails there is Kaif to follow. Instead he comes in thinking that he has to keep his wicket and it results in him being more cautious curbing his natural game.

    missed a trick there!

  • Bad team selection. You don't play with just 5 batsman these days. Thats a guaranteed loss if the opposition puts anything decent on the board. Remember lankans six down had chandana and mahela playing, thats the kind of depth you need in batting to win ODIs or you lose. Those are human beings out there, they're going to make mistakes and get out. You've to cover that eventuality. Can't say if five don't do the job, six won't either. Chances are six might, but if you don't play six, you're seriously curtailing your chances of winning.

  • I don't understand why we try to hit out against Murali. We can't score runs against him, so why not go after other bowlers to compensate for that. Why didn't Yuvraj and Dravid go after lesser bowlers like Dilshan and Chandana?

  • Help me Dude, I think I'm lost..... I was searching for Elvis and somehow ended up in your blog, but you know I'm sure I saw him in a car lot yesterday, which is really strange because the last time I saw him was in the supermarket. No honest really, he was right there in front of me, next to the steaks singing "Love me Tender". He said to me (his lip was only slightly curled) "Boy, you need to get yourself a San Diego cosmetic surgery doctor ,to fit into those blue suede shoes of yours. But Elvis said in the Ghetto nobody can afford a San Diego plastic surgery doctor. Dude I'm All Shook Up said Elvis. I think I'll have me another cheeseburger. Then I'm gonna go round and see Michael Jackson and we're gonna watch a waaaay cool make-over show featuring some Tijuana dentists on the TV in the back of my Hummer. And then he just walked out of the supermarket singing. . . "You give me love and consolation,
You give me strength to carry on " Strange day or what? :-)
