And from the Telegraph...

...an 'interaction' between LP Sahi and Saurav Ganguly, that I will link to with just one quote, and no comments.
The e-mail was sent after the first Test (Bulawayo) which is why Chappell didn’t nail Sourav for lack of form. He scored a hundred there.
Frankly, the coach’s accusations don’t exactly add up.

There's also some stuff about SG not wanting the team involved -- I'm afraid, though, it's too late for that; the team is now involved, like it or not; its individual members will now have to speak their piece before the review committee and clear the air, once for all, no matter which way that particular pendulum swings.

Your Blog. It's nice . Here's a subject that interests many; major depression. It's some insight into dealing with major depression.

  • firstly, our friend LP Sahi doesnt really elaborate as to why the "coach's accusations don't exactly add up"...hmmm

secondly, Saurav now doesnt feel it is proper to "react through the media"...interesting..he didnt feel the impropriety when he utilised the services of the media during the first test to let us know about his tiff with GC...hmmm

  • Can't nail him for form for scoring a flowing century against the best attack in the world under terrible batting conditions .. oh wait the attack was zim .. and the pitch was docile.. but hey it was a century so can't nail him now ...

  • A look at this article reveals saurav's defense
    1. GC just wants power
    2. I always have the interests of team in my heart. Look I don't want to involve them
    3. I would not go public now but may go later
4.How come GC has formes an opinion based on just 1 tour ?
    5. I lead India to its first overseas tour win in 19 years.
    6. Accusations don't add up.

Pretty poor defense. He's gonna need something more than this

  • LP Sahi should be totally ignored.. Just like these communists have their own trumpet for their greatness and cant hear the world.. LP Sahi is the same gene.. Cant see facts.. just a lawyer who makes money saving criminals.

  • Yo, wasn't someone defending LP Sahi on these blogs not too long ago as a fair journalist? (Was it KBan?).
So much for objective journalism, this dude is stating conclusions without explaining any rationale behind it.

  • multy:

You missed the point I made about LP Sahi. I did not defend him as a "fair journalist", I simply said he is not SG's microphone -- there is a difference.

I made the point that his articles include quotes, inside info, and his opinions mixed in. That makes him no better or no worse than most of the other journalists. I did not say he is a "fair journalist" -- you can check out my prior post.

LP Sahi gets inside information because he works for a Calcutta based publication which is a sister publication of ABP. ABP has one reporter who is close to SG and by extension some of the inside tid bits get passed on to Sahi when he is writing for Telegraph.

With Jaggu Dalmiya holding the reins of Indian cricket for the last several years (directly or indirectly), a lot of inside info is leaked to the local newspapers (notably ABP and Telegraph -Sahi). That is why you will see Sahi coming out with info that other papers dont have.

But having info or inside tid bits is not the same as being SG's mouthpiece or the executor of SG's media spin as many people in the blog seem to believe. This is the point I made.

  • IMO this article is pretty streigth forward representing the facts of the case as it stands. Please note that SG did leak or go to the media, but commented on a persistent HB querry during an interview. Its not like he called a press conference.

And even though the team is involved in this issue and their views will also be heard by the board SG doesn't want them to be hounded by the media at least.

As for LPS saying that GC claims don't add up - yes they don't in such a short time - its too soon.
