Foot in the door?

Harsha, now, suggesting that Nehra is getting swing. Sunny suggests a wicket will help the team get a foot in the door. Coincidentally, we have now officially dispensed with slips, so IF the ball swings and IF it takes the edge, the only question is whether third man can cut it off in time.

When... after how many games... will we ever learn that you cannot 'defend' a total unless it is 350 or so? And that the only real defense is wickets?

  • prem, u seem to repeating a mantra that only dravid seems aware of. remember his captaincy in sri lanka - making the lankans sweat it chasing the tiny collection of runs that the indian batsmen had gifted them with. one has to attack to get wickets.

  • the only question that remains is whether new zealand get the runs by the 30th over or by the 31st over! :)

  • and ganguly opts for powerplay 2 ....a bold move considering the deluge of boundaries so far!

  • sg seems to believe in the philospohy of "choke runs" and "pile on the pressure" and "wickets will come automatically". Dunno how good this theory would be against this long batting lineup of nz...btw prem, the seamers gave us great starts in the matches leading to this one & bajji did not too anything earth shattering then...u can't really exonerate him ... he seems to have lost it in ODIs...his performance is way below mark

  • Prem,

no point in watching these bunch of losers. this match is a replica of many preivous finals that India has played and lost.

I am surprised that the Indian bowlers having been brought up on featherbeds back home have no idea of how to bowl on them. Then again, why i am complaining. Some things never change.
