Last time...

...I mention this, I promise. As on date, 20 boundaries have been scored -- despite our best efforts to "defend the boundaries".

You can put another six men on the field and still find no viable defense against bad lines and lengths. You *can*, though, move fielders up into tight attacking positions, and tell the bowlers that if their bad balls get punished, which they are being anyways, at least their good balls will give them a chance to take a wicket. Now we have the best of both worlds -- the bad balls get taken, the good balls, such as they are, are no threat.

And with that, I promise not to mention this till say the year 2020, when Ganguly's son, or Sachin's, is leading the team and putting eight men on the boundary line.

  • :-), How true

  • I wonder what stops GC from pointing this out at a Press conference when the media is asking him what went wrong.. he should tell with a straight face that Gangu et al conspired to foil his plans and strategies by doing exactly opposite of what had been discussed.

  • i would, if i had any say, surround the batsmen with three or four catchers while bajji is bowling... coz' the only way india will win this one is by bowling them out. but then again, what do i know.
