*roflmao*

An *now* Sehwag comes back on.

I pity this bloke. Batted India to a great position, watched his mates muck it up. Bowled India back into the match, watched his captain gift it away.

I was VS, I would by now have broken most of the crockery, and started on the windows of the dressing room, honest.

  • if i were the tournament organizer, i would give gangs the man of the match. after all, i think he has contributed more to nzealand than anyone else.

  • This is at best a comedy show by Ganguly!

Or may be a 'What-not-to-do-in-a-final' show by the whole Indian team?

By Blogger Shankar Anand, at 09:47

  • the pity of itall is, if by some quirk of fate india were to still win this match, inspite og Gangs not because of him, Ganguly would end up keepng his job...

    By Blogger puneetk, at 09:50

  • Ganguly is a true Leftist..

    By Blogger Tiger, at 09:50

  • puneetk - aisi naubat nahi aayegi.. gangu will make sure we lose..

    By Blogger Tiger, at 09:50

  • I think Yuvi will be a good choice and maybe SG can think of bowling Venugopala Rao as well at the other end. The wicket is definitely helping the slower bowlers. So, no more JPY or IP or AN or AA. Yeah, Okay...atleast 2 of them have to bowl the final overs but my point is SPIN Guys!!!

  • Did such kinda behaviour elicit the comments from VS about hopeless south indians and east indians. I expect GC to sneak out on the sly on board the flight that the NZ guys take. Indian team is hopeless and coachless-will read TOI.

    By Blogger Ramji, at 09:51

  • if india were to win it then i dont care if gang stays. but the real pity is he might stay even after we lose it.
would go on record saying that he batted pretty well today

    By Blogger JD, at 09:52

  • madhugr - u still under the impression that India looking to win this match... wake up man...

    By Blogger Tiger, at 09:52

  • Bad move...Yadav would have been effective here. Just because he gave 14 does not mean he has to replaced immediately. NZ might have this as a plan since JP could have bowled 10 tight overs...Ganguly probably played right into their hands here. JP bowls stump to stump and that was needed here for a few overs to increase the required run rate.

  • Guess GC will breach his contarct and say he does not wanna coach a bunch of losers......

By Blogger Sriram Vanamamalai, at 09:53

  • I really admire what dada has done to our team in the past 5 years and am a great fan of his captaincy. But today it has been poor to say the least. Both with the batting order, the bowling changes and field placements. Why do we always mess up so badly? I am also not happy with GC he makes a lot of politically correct statements but I haven’t seen a single example of his “great cricketing brain” in the past 2 tournaments

    By Blogger Avinash, at 09:55

  • bowling stump to stump on this pitch against settled players is not gonna do any good. check out styris against kaif and sehwag

doesnt gang hava any sense. didnt he notice when we batted how easily sehwah and kaif played the seamers and the respect he paid to vettori

    By Blogger JD, at 09:56

  • i think india cricket fans should resign and boycott every game until gangs is fired.

    By Blogger JK, at 09:56

  • avinash - dont blame poor GC.. what can the coach do if the captain makes up his mind to do exactly opposite of what was discussed.. Besides GC is behind YS and MK getting back into some sort of form..

    By Blogger Tiger, at 09:57

  • well its not just gang. true gang's batting and captaincy sucked big time but the seamers too have to shoulder some blame for not bowling tight

    By Blogger JD, at 09:58

  • Gangu can claim that he made the inspirational move of introducing Sehwag into the attack.. such a masterstroke of a genius

    By Blogger Tiger, at 09:58

  • it's not over yet, although it jolly well looks like. Glad to have missed the second innings, the scorecard makes the bowling look pedestrian today. And to think it was the bowling which was our strength a week back...??

    By Blogger Sujata, at 09:59

  • We still have a chance sehwag must now bowl thro'/ And ganguly sud bring on bowlers he truly thinks can get him wickets on this track today not on past records ( like pathan who is really having an off day). Set intellgent fields a couple of man catching and 2-3 on the boundary and the rest in the circle real tight. Idea is not to give away any singles and also bottle those areas in the out field where the bowler can be hit with the spin for example. make them take risks

    By Blogger Avinash, at 10:00

  • sujata -welcome to the comedy/tragedy show

    By Blogger Tiger, at 10:00

  • wow.. lots of spin even from Yuvi

    By Blogger Tiger, at 10:02

  • Tiger, thanks. lol

    By Blogger Sujata, at 10:02

  • excellent over!!! Gangu must be very mad at Yuvi - pura plan chopat kar diya

    By Blogger Tiger, at 10:02

  • Avinash
If you have Gangs as u'r captain forget having intelligent field settings. You only get to choose one Either gangs as captain or intelligent field settings. by teh look of it we are forced with gangs as captain for now. So forget the other one.

By Blogger Sriram Vanamamalai, at 10:03

  • avinash, if you can effect gangs to make those changes, we will nominate u for the arjuna award.

    By Blogger JK, at 10:03

  • wah kya fielding hai

    By Blogger Tiger, at 10:04

  • Why the fuck would you have NEhra at long on...he's not fast...doesn't have a good arm and not the safest pair of hands if the ball flies down his throat.

    By Blogger ClannZú, at 10:05

  • How about bringing one or two fielders in for the spinners...the batsmen are having a hard time placing the ball.

    By Blogger ClannZú, at 10:06

  • we need to get dalmia's and the selectors email id, postal id and ......
sorry folks all i could think of were a lot of unparlimentary words :)

    By Blogger JD, at 10:07

  • Quick..can we manufacture another spinner in the team..surely someone can bown innocous off-spin. I remember Dravid picking a wicket once with his off-spin.

    By Blogger ClannZú, at 10:08

  • AN can’t field and he can’t bat what to do with him, I don’t understand. Also why did we supersub venu specially after 5 overs when we saw the seamers being carted all around the park. Were rao and raina not taken as “potential allrounders”. Then why do we think rao is a worse bowler than RD. we cud always keep substituting one of the bowlers with RD in case SG needed him on field for statergy. 4 or 5 overs of tight off spin would have served us real well here

    By Blogger Avinash, at 10:11

  • Sriram and jk frustrated are you guys with dada, same here. He has not been up to the mark today, not even close.

    By Blogger Avinash, at 10:13

  • ClannZú we had one in the 11 but we supersubbed him!!!!

    By Blogger Avinash, at 10:14

  • avinash - actually Gangu has been true to expectation .. he has been displaying this kind of lunacy for far too long..
