The season of togetherness

Saurav Ganguly heard from, on the spat and the resolution:
Asked about the controversial e-mail, wherein Chappell, among other things, said he often feigned injury, Ganguly shot back: "I am relieved that the issue is finally over.
"It was a big issue; it has finally been resolved. We [Chappell and I] can work together."
On his plans for the future, he replied, "It is up to myself, the coach and players to keep trying and working hard, especially in One-Day Internationals. I am looking forward to the season ahead."

  • Even if SG says that he is ready to work with GC can sound so sarcastic to U Prem .... God only can help SG

It is so easy to destroy a player. But it is very difficult to create a Sachin or an SG or a Dravid.

Common Prem try to show some sympathy on him yaar

He is one person who just bats for India not minding about his personal score( teh lone exception is the ZIM innings) unlike people like DraVID who gives the socalled' stand' while the other players bat by taking all the risks

  • so did he violate the gag order by talking to media?

  • Anyone who has watch Ganguly over last 2 years can tell you that 'Ganguly is gone as a player'. And I have no mercy for him as a player. I support him in his fight against Coach because IMO coach's approach sucked big time but coach raised a valid question( just didn't time it well). If Ganguly doesn't drop himself, he should be SACKED.

And please I dont think we want to question Dravid's integrity here or even criticize him for his batting. If India has won so many tests under Ganguly then Dravid is one of the main reasons behind it.

I sincerely hope that there is more to this BCCI meating outcome and it is basically to save Sourav from furthur embarrassment. I would expect him(Ganguly) either to drop himself or retire or be sacked in next 2-3 months.

  • Everything is so far away from the truth. So frustrating !!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy questioned character of Chappell a few days before and now is OK to work with him again. This is another sign of a mentally unfit man.

Chappell should resign as there is no hope with Indian Cricket. We'll keep playing cricket with close in fielders waiting for batsmen to give bat-pad catches from balls bouncing from rough spots.

  • rahul,
nothing wrong with balls bouncing from rough spots. The touring teams bowl on the same pitch too. Why they dont get the ball to bounce is of course another matter...

  • Rahul..yr views should also apply to GC,He said he is not like JW and would not take it lyng down,Why has he agreed to the resolution?

    By Blogger Ravi1010, at 12:50

  • I meant that our approach to the game has been the same all the time....resist changes. Isn't that's what is happening again?

  • Ravi,

I agree with you. GC should not take it lying down. He should quit.
And this might happen. I don't think this matter is closed.

However whatever he has said in the email is absolutely right. Some things just cannot be proven. But you, me and every cricket lover knows the facts.

  • what a farce. How unethtical can you get. Why is Dalmiya in the committee and if he is, then why does he meet up with SG before the whole proceedings start? That is so fackin' unethical. GC must be banging his head against the wall for dealing with such loonies.

I support goes wholeheartedly to GC. he really wants to make a big difference to Indian cricket, but we have this loonies like Dalmiya who are only interested in protecting their own interests.

GC is not stupid. He will get his way in the end and he will just have to try another way of dealing with this. Sooner or later, SG will be sacked because his awful form will continue.

Its Ganguly who created a rift within the team by messing up with VVS's brain. Spreading lies and all. On that account he should be FIRED! The last time the committee met, it was a close decision to continue with Ganguly. I hope now its an unanimous decision to GET RID of him.

  • sad day for indian cricket indeed!

    By Blogger jgohil, at 13:06

  • GC will not quit.

There is lot at stake financially and there are not many who would offer this salary and benefits.

Also the public exposure.( could be good and bad).

and the challenging work, if that really interest him.

If he did help SG batting in the past successfully, he may be able to help now too. Not only that, there may be need for SRT as well.

    Time will tell.

  • Vijaykumar:
Could you please qualify your statement regarding Dravid who in your opinion "sticks around and lets other people takes risks". His "sticking around" allowed him to compile 233 in Aus, 270 in Pak and 140 odd in Headingley and win us tests. Admire Ganguly by all means...don't denigrate Dravid though. Much has been talked about Ganguly's success as a test captain. Add up all his wins and I would daresay, Dravid had a significant role in most of them!
