Talk of hubris

Just earlier today, I'd put up a post about a former South Australia player's remarks on Greg Chappell's ineffectiveness as coach, during his five-year stint there. "It's only now," former Redback pace bowler Paul Wilson was quoted in that article as saying, "under Wayne Phillip (the current coach) that lost ground is being recovered."
Indeed -- this story sets out just how much ground has been recovered. I mean, really.

  • Prem,

I was based in South Australia for the last 3 years... one of the things this guy Wilson does not mention is how Andy Flower, roped in at a high cost to captain the side, stood down after just one year (as player, not even as captain)...its believed he didnt want to work in a mismanaged strucure like SACA and under Wayne Philips. Anything can be made to sound like anything thru clever sound bytes:-)

  • Prem, true, hardly any progree was made with the other coach.

Real Question is did GC make any difference at all to South Australia ? and the answer in NO.
