A balanced diet...

...is a slice of pizza in each hand. No, seriously -- check this story out, full of detail on where the team will stay, what it will eat, and much more of such, when in Pune for ODI4.
Interestingly, Taj has been told of a mandatory requirement of pizzas with tonnes of cheese that has to be delivered to the team immediately after every match — in the dressing room. ‘‘It’s a requirement sent to us officially by the BCCI — maybe it’s an instant energy provider,’’ adds Kumar.

  • Thought Seafood is better than Chicken or Cheese....
Ohhh..yup..this is BCCI..they don't go with normal standard.

  • Team India has so many specialists doing duty for it that one more viz. a Sports Dietician can be added to the list so that media can not find fault with BCCI for a faulty menu for the players.

  • rajg, seafood while generally fat free, is fraught with danger of food poisoning and stomach upsets. remember michael johnson in his first olympics?

the general diet is low on oil, spice, and curry (so the players don't sleep!) and high on carbs as they will need all that energy to burn.

now someone should find out what the Maharaj ate on game days :-) 20 roshogollos :-)? the most unfit guy in the last 40 years was bishen singh bedi. he was rumored to eat 40 dum aloos during the lunch recess.
