Cow jumps over the moon

Or, at least, ticket prices do. Apparently the Rajasthan Cricket Association has priced premium seats for the third ODI at Rs 1.25 lakh -- and they are all gone, says Lalit Modi.
Check out some of the other ticket rates referenced in this article -- then think on this; with this kind of money to be made (and ticket sales are the very small tip of an enormous iceberg), why be surprised that everybody and his uncle wants to be BCCI president -- and the incumbent group doesn't want to budge?

  • Prem, holy cow, ticket prices are more expenaive than that of super bowl or world series...

  • Prem,
Do you have data on how much the BCCI presidents or State association presidents make personally? It will be great to know.

  • the match at mohali starts at 1 pm IST , which is a good hour an a half before the Challenger matches started . So which gives effectively 1.5 hrs less of dew time .

Do you guys think the matches are startiing early delibrately to negate the dew factor . 1.5 hrs is almost like 22 overs ! So Dew maybe a lesser factor than it was in the Challengers

  • Prema:

Didn't someone post a link to a similar story yesterday. In that the price for the box was reported to be 7 lakhs and upward. Beer was to be served also, but that was scrapped.

  • Adi, I believe you got it right! There have been a number of factors playing in this series to make things easier for players.

For example, Nagpur pitch was an xtreme makeover from the time we played Aussies. It became so placid.

Wonder what is happening behind the scenes... May be Prem can ask his folks to run a story on this.

  • I read somewhere BCCI memebers are honorary members and that they do not get paid a monthly salary. Infact our selctors do the JOB free of cost. No wonder they do such a crappy job themselves.
Isnt it time to revamp the whole system. I personally cant belive they are all in there for the sake of serving cricket, they must be filling thier pockets with a chunck of that pie generated. Its high time this BS stops and some order and transparency be present.
How about changing the name from BCCI to NCA like NBA and bringing the corporate world into it?

  • rahul_fan,
I am sure someone on these forums will one day provide some data on money making by BCCI bosses. Influence peddling is not the same as money making. For that matter, do you know how much Blatter or Havelunge makes from respective institutions? Nothing much.

NBA model is not for every country. We come to USA, see something and start furting...I have read stories how MLB corporates get free doles in the form of land to build stadiums. It is the same story everywhere, you need the willingness to see it.
