Modi blues

Lalit Modi is apparently incensed -- by way of aside, I need a good thesaurus; way too many people incensed today and after a sleepless night, dreaming up synonyms is beyond me -- by some slurs on the RCA.
Some fun stuff here, but what really had me chuckling was this last bit:
The Income Tax people had come snooping. “This is a non-profit organization. They only came to find the sales figures of tickets. We showed them around and they were happy.

Ah, indeed -- officials came by and went away happy, did they? *laughing still* Don't say it out loud, Modi-saab.

  • Well..some of those corporate seats at Rs 12K plus...hmmmmm..
Anyway, from all accounts some good things seemed to have happened at the ground in terms of infrastructure. One of the ills of our stadiums are : 1) too much attention at the time of a big match and nil maintenance later 2) the biggies will be no where to be found during domestic matches.
Some of this will change when the public start supporting domestic cricket but somehow that is not happening and inspite of all the big bucks, the empty domestic scenario must demoralising especially for those players who had already played in international cricket and are later left out.

These guys should not be allowed to speak in public - they shoot themselves in the foot. Happy indeed!

BTW, Kolkata, I think the name is, not Kolkatta (re your earlier post).

Did you note that Trevor Chesterfield is predicting a 5-2 series win by India if things go from bad to worse? Wonder how he came up with this figure - must be pretty sure that SL will definitely win two.

  • I have a feeling things could get really ugly for Sri Lanka if they lose the 4th one as well. It's always difficult to stop the momentum when you keep playing every third day. A 7-0 sweep is not inconceivable.
