Do the dew?

Previews of the game later tonight (okay, early tomorrow morning NY time) at the Gardens seem scarce. The only substantive one is Anand Vasu's, on Cricinfo. There is, this piece suggests, no exaggerated dew to worry about, which is likely where the game differs from the one in Bangalore.
Bat first and win could well be the motto here -- for those seeking more information on how the ground has behaved in the past, check out this summary from Cricinfo's Stats Guru.

Please do tell us some inside stories about why RD is fighting for Aggie's place specially in a Test side. We all know how well Aggie has performed in tests in comparision to ODI.

    *waiting for some juicy story*

    Will highly appreciate it.

  • why is graeme smith complaining so much about the dew?
it was a non-issue at bangalore. he was pretending, it seems, to wipe the ball. johan botha and ontong were getting turn. the cameraman stepped inside the boundary ropes and rubbed his hand on the grass. it came up dry. what game is the loser graeme smith playing at?
seems like some people are quite preoccupied preparing reasons for defeat. all the better for India.

  • on the test selection...everything going according to script....The immediate target is ...
320+ total if we bat first. If we bat second, the match is in the bag dew or no dew. anybody any strategies ? supersubs ?...

  • why the heck are Roy and Yashpal questioning inclusion of VVS in tests ? especially considering even below average men like them had plenty of opportunities.
The next big thing in Indian cricket is to get our system of selection and administration in order. This zonal crap is only crap. Who needs them. Right ? If we can find 5 strong & fast bowlers from punjab, then, so be it...I hope that some wise men in power and the media ensure that a proper system evolves. We will be world beaters then and only then.
