Content sharing in court

The Delhi high court has asked respondents the information and broadcasting ministry, the sports ministry and Prasar Bharati to respond on a petition filed by ESPN-Star Sports challenging the government’s notification on mandatory content sharing with Prasar Bharati.
ESPN Star Sports counsel AM Singhvi argued that the Trai rulings were “arbitrary, irrational and contrary to Article 14 (Right to Equality) of the Constitution and violative of the provisions of the Copyright Act, 1957 and the same cannot override its statutory rights”.
