'Healthy' discussion

Wow -- this damn blog is not quick enough to catch up with the jet age. Or more accurately, I need to pay more attention to the time some stories go up, and are referenced here.
Sourav has already met Pawar.
Flying in from Kolkata, Ganguly drove straight to Pawar's Janpath residence but both refused to talk to the media about their discussion.
For the record, BCCI Media Committee chairman Rajiv Shukla said, "they did not discuss any selection matter. Selection is left to the selectors. They talked about general health of Indian cricket."

For Rediff, my Delhi colleague Onkar Singh adds this much by way of information:
Rajiv Shukla, media advisor to the BCCI, told media persons that the meeting had taken place at the instance of Ganguly. " He called up Sharad Pawarji on phone on Monday and expressed his desire to meet him. BCCI president Pawar agreed to meet him," Shukla said.

But those who have been keeping a close watch on the developments felt that Pawar may not say in the media but he must have given an assurance to Ganguly that he would be in the Indian team for Pakistan tour next month. But he must have extracted an assurance from the former Indian captain that he would give no reason for complain to the team management about his behaviour both on and off the field.
