Operation rehab

An Express story by Nadim Siraj suggests that Sourav Ganguly's intent, in meeting Sharad Pawar, was to clear his name of some of the allegations levelled by Greg Chappell.
There was no way, he said, one could prove that he was responsible for spoiling team spirit. He is believed to have cited ‘‘numerous specific instances” to prove his case. He apparently listed each allegation against him and sought to explain to the Board president that “too much” was being made out of them.

Elsewhere, this story in the Hindu suggests that Sourav is concerned at the manner of his going, when he has to go.
More than anything else, Ganguly is keen that he goes out in a befitting manner and there should no longer be any controversy. On Tuesday night when he met Mr. Pawar he not only explained his side of the story in the recent wrangle but also expressed his desire to be accorded a decent farewell.

These little snippets about a tete-a-tete between the board president and the former captain make you wonder: who is talking to who... and why?
