Inzy, in his own words

The Pak skipper has started a column in The News (Thanks, Ramesh Teeka, for the heads up). The first instalment makes all the right noises ahead of the series about enthusiasm and such. And then there is this:
Still, at the start of this fresh series, I would consider Rahul Dravid’s team as the ‘favourites’. Keeping in view the last two Pakistan-India series, one would surmise that in encounters between these two arch-rivals, the host team is not the favourite. A home team is generally at a disadvantage. Two years ago, India beat us in Pakistan. Last year, we squared the series in India after clinching an important victory in the final Test match. And we won the limited overs series there.
There are always more expectations from the home team and that’s why I feel that India start as the favourites. I am not saying that the Pakistan team is weak and the Indians stronger; I believe the series will be won by the team which is able to bear the tremendous pressure well.
