A small note(-worma)

Just in case you are not aware, the Wicket to Wicket blog of cricinfo has been opened for comments. Another improvement, that atleast I noticed now, is that it has a separate RSS feed now(earlier it provided the generic cricinfo feed, although The Surfer had its own).

And btw, the latest topic of discussion there is the state of Indian cricket, with Harsha as one of the contributors...so we can all pile on our regular rants there :-)

  • The comments are moderated, so regular rants as seen here might not be as easily tolerated there.

  • ohh..didn't know that...umm..not v good, that. But depends on the level of moderation.

  • well some amount of moderation is good i suppose ... we know some characters who tend to get too carried away when talking here

  • Deposed India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly on Thursday praised his successor Rahul Dravid and declared that he is prepared to play in any position and perform any role if reinstated to the national squad.

  • Dude, golf IMO is the most boring games. Bring on some cricket news pal.

  • Id rather comment here than in Prem's blog than in a blog like that. Also I dont like this modertated comments thing. They seem to be doing a kind of a favour by publishing your comments. And after Prem's blog, who would bother to comment on a blog where they censor what you have to say!

I am not a great fan of reading non cricketing experts, and even if I have to read one, why would I even care to read what an Amit Verma has to say when there is Prem Panicker here, beter than any other Indian non cricket playing expert.

I doubt how many of the regulars here will bother to post their comments there. See whats on there already, plainly stating the obvious and a very artificial kind of discussion.

  • dark nights: sure mate...me not venturing there too much either :-)....just that since Harsha was a contributor..maybe its worth a try if its indeed Harsha who's going to read and *reply* to comments

  • nehra must have a massive muscle in his bum coz a small 'niggle' on it has put him out for 3-4 months :)

    By Blogger JD, at 10:28

  • jd,
this is the first time since 2002 that we have the fortune of not seeing nehra for 2 consecutive series

  • Intersting parallel between economy and cricket... But I still think the goverment actuly had a cpl of forward thinkers who knew the route to economic growth, whereas BCCI has allways been a bunch of jokers. The very concept behind which they operate "service on their own spare time" is going to dictate a true lack of proffesionalism!! I am not sure I can see a short time or a long time solution to this. Its going to be the same allways, try an experiment .. let it continuie till it gets ugly, try some other experiment for a short time , repeat the cycle till you get lucky as with Wright or (hopefully) with Chappell....

  • I remember a link on here Y'day about how the U-19 team is experimenting now!! Apparently success means experimenting is the buzz word. Which is awesome, if done in the right form and manner. So for the sake of next generation of cricekters.. I hope they continue to do so, wonder what will happene when we loose htis series... No more experimentation?Back to the old system?

  • I don't see whats wrong with having moderated comments...if it were unmoderated there would hundreds maybe even thousands of comments to read through and most would be stating the same thing. Then there would be some just cursing and abusing for no rhyme or reason and some would be downright silly. We all know how ridiculous some people get here sometimes. Anyway...good article as always by Harsha.
